AC Milan secured a much-needed win over Como on Tuesday night, but Sergio Conceicao was left with an anxious wait due to injury concerns.
Goals from Theo Hernandez and Rafael Leao helped launch our comeback in a 2-1 win, but with a trip to Juventus next up this weekend, the difficult challenges keep coming for the Rossoneri.

While Conceicao has overseen three wins in his four games in charge, he conceded himself in midweek that the team still isn’t executing his principles and way of playing effectively enough, and so there is still significant room for improvement.
One of the last things that he needs is to be without key players due to injury during this critical period, as they adapt to his demands and he gets to know them better in terms of what they can provide on the pitch.
Unfortunately, Christian Pulisic, Malick Thiaw and Alvaro Morata all picked up injury issues in our win at Como, but there was relatively good news on that front as reports suggest that none of the trio have suffered a serious setback.
As per MilanNews, both Pulisic and Morata underwent further tests which revealed that they haven’t sustained any muscle injuries, and so they will be evaluated in the coming days to determine when they can resume training and what treatment they require.
Morata will miss the game against Juventus due to suspension anyway and so he’ll have time to recover, but it’s hoped that Pulisic is able to feature, albeit the Milan medical staff will take no risks with him if there is a possibility of aggravating the problem further.
As for Thiaw, it’s reported that the Milan centre-half did unfortunately suffer a muscle injury and so he will be evaluated again in 7-10 days, thus ruling him out against Juve and Girona in the Champions League next Wednesday night.
Time will tell if Parma’s visit to San Siro on January 26 comes too early for him, but our trip to Dinamo Zagreb to wrap up the month could be a realistic target for a return. Matteo Gabbia will be hopeful of stepping to fill that void while he is sidelined after coming on against Como.
While we’ve seen an upturn in results under Conceicao, there is evidently still a lot of work and improvement ahead, and so it’s hoped that we can move towards having a fully-fit squad in the coming weeks, which will be a major boost for him as we look to put together a strong run of form.
