AC Milan are reportedly set to sack Paulo Fonseca, while it’s suggested that an agreement has already been reached with Sergio Conceicao to be appointed as his successor.
The Rossoneri were held to a disappointing 1-1 draw by Roma at San Siro on Sunday night, as we produced another average display that didn’t show any clear signs that we’re addressing, and more importantly fixing, our flaws.

The result leaves us in eighth place in the Serie A table, eight points adrift of the top four, and so although there have been some positive signs and encouraging results, the inconsistency and the lack of an overall influence of Fonseca since he was appointed this past summer, seemingly isn’t going to be enough to save his job.
As per Antonio Vitiello, Fonseca is heading towards being dismissed, while it’s noted that an agreement had already been reached with Conceicao prior to our draw with Roma this weekend.
Further, Gianluca Di Marzio reports that the Milan hierarchy are now leaning towards making a coaching change, and that Conceicao is expected to sign a six-month contract until June 2025, with an option to extend further.
While there is nothing official as of yet, speculation is certainly building that the Milan hierarchy are set to make a fundamental change and end Fonseca’s tenure after just a few months.
As noted above, he hasn’t entirely convinced both in terms of our performances and results, as neither have been good enough and we haven’t seen a clear identity and consistency in our efforts on the pitch.
The fact that it’s noted by multiple sources that Conceicao is set to be appointed would suggest that the club have given it a lot of thought already heading into this weekend’s game, and so we may well be starting the New Year with a new man at the helm.
