Good news touted as top Milan talent tipped to sign new deal

AC Milan are reportedly set to agree terms on a new contract with talented youngster Francesco Camarda to secure his future.

The 16-year-old made his Serie A debut this past season, having bagged 13 goals and five assists in 41 appearances for the Primavera side.

Further, he has 11 goals in 17 caps for Italy U17s, and having been named as 2024 UEFA European U17 Championship Player of the Tournament this summer, there is real optimism about his potential and the future ahead of him.

In turn, it was imperative that the Rossoneri were able to agree on a new contract to extend his stay, and as per Fabrizio Romano, he is expected to put pen to paper on a new deal by the end of this week with an agreement in place between the two parties.

He adds that the new deal will run until June 2027, and while Camarda is said to have rejected offers from abroad, it’s hoped that he can now continue to improve and develop, to eventually make his mark at the senior level in a Milan shirt.

While the expectation is that Milan will spend big on a new striker this summer given Olivier Giroud is set to move on, depending on whether or not that’s our only signing in that department, there could indeed be an opening for Camarda moving forward.

It remains to be seen what happens with Luka Jovic in the coming weeks if he stays on at Milan, but despite his inexperience at the top level, it could see Camarda move into contention sooner rather than later given how impressive he’s looked thus far.

That decision will no doubt sit with expected new boss Paulo Fonseca once he is officially appointed, but it’s certainly hoped that although Milan do need to add significant reinforcements to improve the squad this summer off the back of an underwhelming season, there must still be room and opportunities for our younger players to make a breakthrough in the senior side.
