AC Milan are reportedly pushing ahead with finalising our plans to have an Under 23s side compete in the 2024/25 Serie C season.
While the likes of Juventus and Atalanta have enjoyed positive results after launching similar projects in recent years and seeing talented youngsters come through, it was a plan that had previously been touted for the Rossoneri a few years ago.

However, having been shelved for some time, it finally appears as though we will see tangible progress made and an U23s side featuring in Serie C next season, thus creating a fundamental opportunity for our youth talents to compete at a higher level and have a pathway to breaking into the senior squad.
According to Antonio Vitiello, there will be a total investment of €12m in the project, including operating costs and infrastructure improvements.
Further, he notes that there will be an important connection between the U23s and first team, and so while we await an official green light from the FIGC to approve our admission, it’s both a promising and positive step forward from the club.
MilanNews report that it still depends on the exclusion of a club to finally make the announcement official, but it certainly seems as though we’re on course for the desired outcome, with Daniele Bonera expected to be in charge as coach.
While the intricate details of how the project would function continue to be worked on and confirmed in terms of which league group Milan would enter and where we’d play our home games, it will hopefully prove to be a major step forward in bringing through our youth products on a more consistent basis.
Ideally, we’ll identify and develop talent to go on and make their mark at senior level, but from a business and financial perspective too, it could be an important opportunity for the club to balance our books and fund our own spending in the future.
