Calabria, 24, was set to see his previous deal expire in 2022, and so securing his long-term future was undoubtedly a priority this summer.

As per the club’s official site, he has penned a contract that will keep him with us until 2025, and so he can now focus on pre-season with no off-field distractions.

The Milan right-back made 39 appearances last season, scoring two goals and providing two assists to go along with his defensive work, as he solidified his place in the starting XI and is continuing to establish himself as a key figure in the side.

Given his background with the club, it’s important that Milan continue to have players form the core of the squad having come through the youth ranks, and Calabria will now have the opportunity to do that in the coming years.

Injuries and inconsistency have been problematic for him over the years, but as he continues to mature and gain experience, he has certainly improved his all-round game and will no doubt want to continue to develop.

With Milan returning to the Champions League this season, he will have to step up again along with the entire squad to ensure we’re competitive on multiple fronts, but for now, he’ll be delighted to have signed a new deal and committed his future to the Rossoneri.
