Di Marzio: Tonali deal done, Adli update and Jovic alternative for AC Milan

AC Milan are reportedly on the verge of securing the signing of Sandro Tonali on a permanent basis and have several other targets on their transfer radar.

The Rossoneri have already been busy this summer with both Mike Maignan and Fikayo Tomori arriving, while Gianluigi Donnarumma and Hakan Calhanoglu have left as free agents.

As we prepare for our return to the Champions League as well as a push to compete for the Scudetto next season, Stefano Pioli will undoubtedly hope to see further reinforcements arrive to help ensure we’re competitive on multiple fronts.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio during a live segment on Sky Sport Italia, as reported by MilanNews, Tonali is likely to be the next signing that is confirmed as he claims a deal is done, and we’re simply just waiting for it to be signed off by the respective parties.

Elsewhere, Milan are keen on a triple deal with Chelsea for Olivier Giroud, Hakim Ziyech and Tiemoue Bakayoko, but Luka Jovic is an alternative to Giroud while Alvaro Odriozola is our Plan B should we fail to bring back Diogo Dalot from Man Utd after his loan spell with us last season.

Di Marzio adds that Brahim Diaz is getting closer to a return from Real Madrid after his impact on loan last year, and as reported by MilanNews again, a move for Amine Adli from Toulouse is unlikely this summer as he’s expected to now remain in France for another year to continue his development before perhaps becoming an option again in the future.

That would ultimately suggest that it could be a busy few weeks for Milan as we try to get deals done for our preferred targets, but there’s no doubt that adding a combination of experience, quality and youth this summer will strengthen the squad and make us more competitive moving forward.

Tonali and Diaz appear to be well placed to become official sooner rather than later, but time will tell who follows after that as Milan have work to do in the transfer market in the coming weeks.
