AC Milan have confirmed that Diego Laxalt has left the club, and has joined Dinamo Moscow as he prepares for a new chapter in his career.
The 28-year-old joined the Rossoneri in 2018 but was ultimately limited to 35 appearances for the club as he struggled to make an impact.

Further, he was shipped out on two loan moves with the latest coming with Celtic this past season, and so question marks were naturally raised over his future at the club heading into the summer.
As confirmed on the club’s website, Laxalt has now left Milan to join Dinamo Moscow on July 1, and the Rossoneri thanked the Uruguayan international for his contribution.
With Theo Hernandez firmly established as the first-choice left-back, it would undoubtedly have continued to be difficult for Laxalt to enjoy a consistent run of games at Milan, had he stayed.
In turn, his decision to move on is understandable, although it does now present a headache for Stefano Pioli and the Milan management in that there is a distinct lack of quality depth in that position ahead of the new campaign.
Milan will need options throughout the squad as we prepare to return to the Champions League as well as trying to kick on and challenge for the Scudetto next season, and so with Laxalt no longer an option to play a back-up role to Hernandez, that will surely be on our agenda in the coming weeks.
Nevertheless, for now we wish Laxalt well in the future, and thank him for his efforts during his time as a Milan player.
