Agreement reached: AC Milan close in on key €32m+ signing

AC Milan have reportedly reached an agreement with Club Brugge over the signing of Charles De Ketelaere.

The Rossoneri have been heavily linked with the 21-year-old for months now and have continued to pursue him throughout the summer despite a frustrating and concerning wait for developments.

However, as reported by MilanNews, it appears as though there has finally been a breakthrough as an agreement has been reached with Milan set to pay €32m plus €3m in bonuses to prise De Ketelaere away from Brugge, while he’s expected to sign a contract worth €2m plus bonuses until June 2027.

It’s also added in the report that the Belgian international is likely to wear the No.90 shirt once he has arrived, and so given the specific nature of the report, it seems as though an official announcement might not be too far away.

Given how bullish the Milan management have been in this pursuit, they are clearly absolutely convinced by De Ketelaere and what he can add to Stefano Pioli’s side, and so they will be delighted to have moved significantly closer to wrapping up this deal, as per the report above.

The Belgian playmaker is a highly talented young player with plenty of potential to improve in the coming years, and given that is an area of the squad in which we’ve looked weak, it will hopefully serve as a solution to that problem for Pioli and add more quality and creativity to our play in the final third.

With other areas in need of attention too, it’s also hoped that this is now the first domino to fall for Milan, as while it’s been a slow and quiet summer transfer window thus far, there is still time for the club’s hierarchy to get business done to strengthen Pioli’s group and ensure we can build on our success from last season.

De Ketelaere will be a pivotal part of that strategy, and it appears as though we won’t have too much longer to see him unveiled as a Milan player and as our marquee summer signing who will hopefully have a big future ahead of him with the Rossoneri.
