AC Milan have been linked with a move for Lille goalkeeper Mike Maignan in recent days, and his agent has opened the door to a switch.
The Rossoneri will currently be fully focused on matters on the pitch as we continue to battle for a top-four finish in Serie A this season, and the subsequent Champions League qualification that comes with it.

However, with Gianluigi Donnarumma’s current contract set to expire this summer, there is real uncertainty over his future at the club and so Milan seemingly have to put in place a contingency plan in the event that our first-choice shot-stopper moves on.
As per Calciomercato earlier this week, it had been suggested that Milan have already reached an agreement on personal terms with Maignan, and are close to a deal with Lille.
His agent has now publicly discussed the topic and left the door open to a potential move.
“I think Mike is a great goalkeeper,” his agent, Bruno Satin, said, as reported by Tuttomercatoweb. “He would be an excellent choice for Milan in case Gigio doesn’t renew. He grew up in the Paris Saint-Germain academy, but in Lille he has grown a lot in all aspects. He is one of the fundamental players for the Lille season.”
Time will tell if Donnarumma moves on this summer and if a deal for Maignan materialises, but it sounds like it could be a real alternative for Milan if they are indeed in the market for a new goalkeeper ahead of next season.
Meanwhile, Gianluca Di Marzio has told Sky Sport Italia, as reported by MilanNews, that Donnarumma’s future with the Rossoneri ultimately hinges on our ability to qualify for the Champions League.
He suggests that failure to qualify could have a significant impact on his decision, but ultimately Milan can’t wait that long to sort the situation out. Naturally, the hope is that we qualify and keep our best players while signing top targets to improve the squad. If we don’t, there could be a change between the posts based on the reports above.
