AC Milan have officially confirmed the signing of Goncalo Ramos from Paris Saint-Germain in a deal reportedly worth €74m plus add-ons.
It promises to be a busy summer for the Rossoneri as Ruben Amorim gets to work on moulding the squad into his own having been appointed as our new boss earlier this month.
The expectation is that there will be plenty of incomings and outgoings as he develops his own identity and style of play, and it’s imperative that the club back him in the transfer market to allow him to bring in his preferred options.

As per the club’s statement, Ramos becomes his first signing having arrived from PSG, with the club confirming that the Portuguese international has put pen to paper on a contract that runs until June 2031.
Having shown the ability to offer a prolific presence up front for Benfica, PSG and Portugal, it’s hoped that Ramos can now take his career to the next level should he become Milan’s main striker and lead the line for Amorim moving forward.
Given Fabrizio Romano reports that the deal is worth €74m plus add-ons and in turn becomes our club record transfer fee, the pressure will certainly be on the striker to produce, and so it’s hoped that he has a productive World Cup and break before joining up with the squad later this summer to get to work on building chemistry and understanding with his new teammates.
Time will tell what it means for the current options at Amorim’s disposal in the final third as there could be a real shake up this summer given our disappointing campaign last year, but Ramos is an exciting first new addition to the group, and hopefully there are more reinforcements to come to ensure that we are capable of competing at the top end of the Serie A table in the upcoming season.
As mentioned above though, one of the most important aspects of this transfer window is to bring in players that Amorim wants and will suit his preferred system and style of play, and it’s hoped that albeit it’s an expensive swoop, it proves to be a smart piece of business from Milan if Ramos can provide us with a clinical presence up top and consistently deliver goals in the coming years.
