AC Milan have confirmed the signing of Alessandro Florenzi from Roma on an initial loan deal with an option to buy.
The 30-year-old came through the youth ranks at the Giallorossi before going on to make 280 appearances for the senior side in what has been a memorable stint.

However, he has found playing time difficult to come by in more recent times largely due to injury woes, as while he had a loan spell with Valencia in the 2019/20 campaign, he joined Paris Saint-Germain on a temporary basis last season.
Florenzi was part of the Italy squad that won Euro 2020 this past summer, and so he brings with him a wealth of experience and quality to add competition and depth to the Milan squad.
As per the club’s official site, they have confirmed that the versatile Italian international has joined on an initial loan move, while there is an option to make it permanent included in the agreement.
The expectation now is that Florenzi will push Davide Calabria for a starting spot at right-back, while the likes of Alexis Saelemaekers and Samu Castillejo will also come under pressure higher up the right flank.
With Milan looking to compete on multiple fronts this season with Serie A, the Coppa Italia and the Champions League to consider, Florenzi is a smart addition as we ensure that we’ve got enough cover and have the right mix of youth and experience to handle various situations that we cross during the course of the campaign.
Milan also confirmed in their statement above that Florenzi will wear the No.25 shirt this season.
