AC Milan have been told by Ajax director Marc Overmars that reported transfer target Dusan Tadic is not for sale this summer.
Since joining the Dutch giants in 2018, the 32-year-old has bagged 76 goals and 70 assists in 149 appearances for the club.

That in turn tells a story in itself about his influence and importance to the team, with Ajax winning the double twice since he arrived as his experience and leadership is evidently vital to an otherwise young and talented squad.
However, that hasn’t stopped interest from elsewhere being reported, but Overmars is clearly not interested in entertaining the idea of a sale this summer as his creative spark remains too important to the side.
“He is not for sale this summer,” Overmars said, as per De Telegraaf. “We started something beautiful three years ago and Dusan is far too important. He is the cement between the building blocks at Ajax.”
After seeing Hakan Calhanoglu leave on a free transfer last month, Milan have a void to fill in the final third as we look to bring in an upgrade for the No.10 role.
Particularly with our return to the Champions League to consider too, we need more quality and depth to compete at the top level, and Tadic, with his experience and pedigree at that level, could be a sensible addition perhaps in conjunction with a younger option too.
Based on Overmars’ thoughts above though, it sounds as though it’s going to be a difficult task for Milan to prise Tadic away from the Dutch capital, and so much will perhaps depend on his ability to force through a move if he is keen to start a new challenge in Italy.
