AC Milan transfer news: Vlahovic, Belotti and Malen touted as targets

AC Milan could reportedly consider a three-man transfer shortlist of Dusan Vlahovic, Andrea Belotti and Donyell Malen to bolster our attack.

As noted by Sky Sport Italia last week, the Rossoneri are expected to announce a renewal for Zlatan Ibrahimovic shortly which will see him extend his stay with us for another year.

With 17 goals and three assists in 25 appearances so far this season, the Swede has proven that he can still produce at a high level, and coupled with his experience and influence on our young squad, it’s arguably the sensible decision to keep him for one more season.

However, Ibrahimovic turns 40 in October, and with the absence of a proven replacement in the current squad, it’s an area Milan may choose to address sooner rather than later.

Sky Sport Italia journalist Manuele Baiocchini was speaking on the topic this week, as noted by MilanNews, and he has put forward three potential candidates that Milan may consider.

Fiorentina striker Vlahovic is said to be on the Rossoneri’s radar after his impressive campaign with the Viola, as the 21-year-old has scored 15 goals in 32 games this year.

It’s added that Stefano Pioli is an admirer, but it could take up to €40m to prise him away from Florence, which in turn could see him fall outside of our budget.

Belotti is also specifically mentioned and with his current contract set to expire in 2022, it remains to be seen whether or not he signs a renewal with Torino or continues to pose a risk to them of moving on for free.

However, it’s added that the Granata want €30m for him, the same demand from PSV for Malen.

The 22-year-old has impressed this season too with 25 goals in 41 games for the Dutch giants, and given his agent is Mino Raiola, it remains to be seen if he emerges as a serious target for Milan in the summer.

With Ibrahimovic’s age in mind coupled with the lack of a direct, long-term replacement, looking for a player capable of leading the Milan frontline for years to come should certainly be an important point on the club’s agenda.
